A collection of
LSRs go together to make a label-switched path (LSP). Two
options are defined for the selection of a route for a particular
forwarding class:

Hop-by-hop routing defines a process where each node independently decides
the next hop of the route.

Explicit routing is where a single node (often the ingress node of a path)
specifies the route to be taken (in terms of several or all of the
LSRs in the path). Explicit routing may be used to implement network
policies, or allow traffic engineering in order to balance the
traffic load.
